Scott Lang and Hop van Dyne may be pint-sized superheroes, but the pair is poised to do big things at the box office in Ant-Man and the Wasp, which is now projected to outperform its predecessor’s opening weekend domestic haul.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Ant-Man and the Wasp is tracking $75 million for its stateside debut — a hefty step above 2015’s Ant-Man, which pulled in $57.2 million.

Of course, Ant-Man and the Wasp comes hot on the heels of Marvel Studios last superhero blockbuster Avengers: Infinity War, which just passed the illustrious $2 billion worldwide milestone. Much to fans’ surprise, neither Paul Rudd’s Ant-Man or Evangeline Lily’s Wasp appeared in the ensemble film, with the in-story explanation being that Scott was on house arrest and looking after his family following the events of 2016’s Captain America: Civil War.
Directed by Peyton Reed, Ant-Man and The Wasp stars Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly, Bobby Cannavale, Michael Peña, Tip “T.I.” Harris, Judy Greer, David Dastmalchian, Michael Douglas, Michelle Pfeiffer, Laurence Fishburne, Hannah John-Kamen, Randall Park and Walton Goggins. The film arrives in North American theaters on July 6.
