Filming is officially underway on Marvel’s first female-led film, Captain Marvel, and while details remain sparse thus far, that hasn’t kept Samuel L. Jackson from posting behind the scene photos on his Instagram.

The legendary actor took to Instagram to showcase the lifecasting process for the film in a series of three photos. “Caught a lil’ nap while going thru the process today,” he teased before tagging the post “#nickgettingfurious.”

Lifecasts are common in films that use a lot of special effects and FX prosthesis, and given that Jackson is set to appear as a much different Nick Fury in Captain Marvel than we’re used to, it isn’t entirely surprising that the actor had to undergo the process ahead for the film. Throughout his appearances in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Fury has commonly sported his famous eyepatch following the loss of his right eye. That’s set to change, however, with Captain Marvel taking the MCU back to the ’90s when Fury still very much had both eyes. Still, while we know Fury will see the return of his right eye for Captain Marvel, it’s also possible we’ll come to see just when the character lost his eye — perhaps this is the reasoning behind the lifecast?
