Chadwick Boseman Re-Teams With Russo Brothers For Thriller 17 Bridges

Black Panther star Chadwick Boseman reuniting with Avengers: Infinity War directors Joe and Anthony Russo.

The actor has signed on to star in the thriller 17 Bridges as disgraced New York City police detective in a citywide manhunt for a cop killer. Boseman will also produce the film along with the Russo brothers.

The Black Panther star first worked with the Russos in 2016’s Captain America: Civil War, marked his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut as T’Challa, the future king of Wakanda. Boseman went on to work again with the directors in this year’s Avengers: Infinity War, reprising his acclaimed role following Ryan Coogler’s Black Panther. The trio also reuniteed for the untitled fourth Avengers film, arriving in May 2019.

17 Bridges was written on spec by Adam Mervis and optioned by STX Films in 2016 after a bidding war with Sony, Universal and Warner Bros. Director Brian Kirk (Game of Thrones) has signed on to helm the project, with principal photography scheduled to begin in September.

While there is no official release date, the film is expected to premiere sometime next year, with Boseman trading Wakanda for the streets of New York City.
