Chris Hemsworth Reimagined as Deadpool & Ryan Reynolds as Thor in Fan Art

Chris Hemsworth had a minor birthday accident on Friday when his loving son shoved him face-first into his cake, while he was blowing out all 35 candles. This caused what he described as the Deadpool effect. Unsurprisingly enough, Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds tweeted back, explaining his daughter had recently gouged out his right eye. The two superhero fathers then joked about trading roles.

Fans swiftly responded, with artist Boss Logic imagining Hemsworth in Deadpool’s body and Reynolds with Thor’s Asgardian beard.

The typically versatile Hemsworth bears little difference to the heavily pockmarked Wade Wilson, while Reynolds — a man whose beard we’ve only seen a few times onscreen — looks perfectly settled in Thor’s Asgardian mail, short golden locks, and eye patch. A faint trickle of electricity can be seen crackling around the edges of his good eye, proving he is indeed the god of thunder.

Boss Logic added a bit of extra Deadpool touch to Reynolds’s Thor, painting his eye patch a deep, dark purple and affixing a My Little Pony-style unicorn. Hemsworth’s Wilson, on the other hand, has a little touch of Chris, evidenced by the half-lit birthday candles sticking to his face.

Hemsworth and Reynolds have had prominent comedic roles over the years — most of Reynolds’ films are comedies while Hemsworth was in Vacation, Ghostbusters, and Thor: Ragnarok — and have done well in most in which they’ve appeared.

Hemsworth returns as Thor next year in Avengers 4. Directed by David Leitch, Ryan Reynolds stars in Deadpool 2, available now on digital HD and beginning Aug. 21 on Blu-ray and DVD.
