DC Universe’s new Doom Patrol series will be getting a new cast member, and she’s coming straight from Grant Morrison’s run on the comics.
Following the events of the first season of the live-action Titans series, the Doom Patrol will regroup with Robotman, Negative Man, Elasti-Girl and Dr. Niles Caulder. The superhero Cyborg will also play a role in the show, along with a previously unmentioned character: Crazy Jane.
Of course, fans Morrison and artist Richard Case’s Doom Patrol comic are aware of the character already. Crazy Jane first showed up in 1989’a Doom Patrol, and since her introduction, she has been included in several iterations of Doom Patrol.

The inclusion of Crazy Jane adds a lot more depth and nuance to the announced cast of characters, pushing them away from the typical superhero team and toward the collection of outcasts they are supposed to be. Crazy Jane, a young woman suffering from multiple personality disorder, was created by Morrison after reading Truddi Chase’s autobiography When Rabbit Howls.
The catch here is that each of her personalities possesses their own superpower, with abilities that derive from the personalities she exhibits and the trauma she experienced.
The Doom Patrol featured in Titans will be played by Bruno Bichir as Dr. Niles Caulder, April Bowlby as Elasti-Girl, Jake Michaels as Robotman and Dwain Murphy as Negative Man, but there is currently no indication if they will appear in the spinoff series.
