The two sequels to popular OVA series FLCL, titled Progressive and Alternative, will premiere in both the United States and Japan this year!
In the US, FLCL Progressive will premiere on Jun. 2 and FLCL Alternative sometime in September on Adult Swim. Meanwhile, fans in Japan will be able to catch it in theaters from Sept. 7 and Sept. 28 respectively.
First announced in Mar. 2016, the second and third seasons are a co-production between Production I.G., Toho and Adult Swim. Just based on the trailer, the wild storyline, memorable characters, and hilarious scenes remain unchanged. Alternative rock band the pillows will also be returning for two new theme songs called “Star overhead” and “spiky seeds”.
Visitors to AnimeJapan 2018 on Mar. 24 or 25 will have the opportunity to buy tickets in advance, as well as original goods celebrating the new sequels.
