Green Lantern Hal Jordan Death Teased in DC Comics Artwork For Batman/Booster Gold Story Arc

Writer Tom King enjoys sharing sneak peeks of artwork for his upcoming story arcs on social media, and a new piece illustrated by Tony S. Daniel teases a grim fate for the Earth-born Green Lantern Hal Jordan.

Daniel’s penciled art for his upcoming run on Batman zooms in on Booster Gold’s face and goggles, which appear to show the reflection of Jordan taking his own life with his Green Lantern ring. Smoke can be seen rising in the background of the image, which could mean this scene is taking place in an apocalyptic or alternate future.

Booster Gold will take part in April’s upcoming Batman story arc “The Travelers,” beginning in Issue #45. In the story, Booster recruits Batman and Catwoman for a time-traveling mission to rescue two different versions of his younger self, which will send the three characters on a tour of the Dark Knight’s history.

Hal Jordan has not been marketed to appear in the story arc as of April and May’s solicits, but perhaps Batman, Catwoman and Booster Gold’s trip through time will take them to an alternate timeline where other DC characters will make appearances as well.

Below are the solicitation text and Daniel’s cover for Batman #45, the first part of “The Travelers.”
