Actor Edward Norton threw a dig at Marvel Studios Saturday during Comedy Central’s Roast of Bruce Willis.

Norton, who played the lead character of Dr. Bruce Banner in 2008’s The Incredible Hulk, told the crowd in attendance that he was difficult to work with during production of the film because of its writing.

“I wanted a better script,” Norton said, according to a tweet from The Hollywood Reporter‘s Ryan Parker.

Norton joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe at a time when the franchise was still finding its footing. Iron Man had released to critical and commercial success, but The Incredible Hulk failed to hit the same highs as the Robert Downey Jr. starring vehicle. The film was written by Zak Penn, with an uncredited rework from Norton himself.

Reports circulated that year that Marvel Studios and Norton were clashing over his involvement in the film, including a dispute between the two parties over the film’s final edit, according to Deadline. Norton was booted from the Marvel Cinematic Universe just a couple of years later as production kicked up on The Avengers.

Marvel Studios released a statement at the time saying: “Our decision is definitely not one based on monetary factors, but instead rooted in the need for an actor who embodies the creativity and collaborative spirit of our other talented cast members.” The studio cited the need for an actor that could work as part of an ensemble, alongside “Robert, Chris H, Chris E, Sam, Scarlett, and all of our talented casts.”
