Fans in China now know when they will be able to partake in the spectacle uniting Earth’s Mightiest Heroes against the threat of Thanos as Disney have finally secured a release date for Avengers: Infinity War. The movie will open on May 11, two weeks after its North American debut on April 27.
To celebrate the news, a new poster for the film has surfaced, placing past and present Avengers, Black Panther’s Wakandan resistance, Doctor Strange, as well as all of the Guardians of the Galaxy, all at the forefront. In the background, Thanos looms large, wielding two Infinity Stones in his Gauntlet, with a menacing look on his face that truly hints at the terror to come.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is the biggest Hollywood franchise over in China, with the likes of The Fast and the Furious and Transformers properties trailing behind. Avengers: Age of Ultron earned $240 million in the country in 2015, setting a series of records at the time, with iconic characters such as Captain America and Iron Man consistently raking in more than $100 million with their solo movies too.

Infinity War will pick up from the events of Ryan Coogler’s smash hit Black Panther and pits all the heroes of the MCU against Thanos and his forces, including the Black Order, as he aims to reshape reality in his own dark, twisted way.
Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, Avengers: Infinity War stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Jeremy Renner, Scarlett Johansson, Paul Bettany, Anthony Mackie, Paul Rudd, Elizabeth Olsen, Tom Holland, Benedict Cumberbatch, Chadwick Boseman, Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper, Vin Diesel, Tom Hiddleston and Josh Brolin, among others. The film hits U.S. theaters on April 27.
