Jim Lee Says Snyder Wasn't Fired from Justice League

Don’t believe everything you hear, son. DC Entertainment’s Co-Publisher says the rumor about Zack Snyder being fired from Justice League is not true.

During Jim Lee’s panel at the Calgary Comic & Entertainment Expo, the iconic artist was allegedly asked about the rumor regarding director Zack Snyder being fired, as well as his thoughts on Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. According to a fan who attended the panel, Lee doubled-down on the original reason released about Snyder’s departure and being replaced by Joss Whedon: Snyder stepped down because of a family tragedy, not because the studio fired him.

Despite getting solo director credit on the film, the theatrical version of Justice League is seemingly not Snyder’s complete vision for the movie (several scenes and moments from trailers are removed and Whedon added new material). However, the director continues to talk with fans on social media about his work with the DCEU. Whether or not the world will eventually see the “Snyder Cut” of Justice League is still a riddle that not even Batman himself could solve.

As for the question about Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Lee reportedly called the film “solid” and praised Snyder’s handling of the two popular heroes, despite reportedly knowing that the film would be divisive. He also allegedly stated that he enjoys all cinematic versions of the Caped Crusader, but indicated his favorite Batman movie is Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight.
