Manga author Mashima Hiro has revealed on Twitter that the final season of Fairy Tail will be broadcasting fall 2018.
Mashima tweeted, “Sorry to keep you waiting. The Fairy Tail TV anime’s final season airs fall 2018!”
From 2011 to 2016, the manga received anime adaptations spanning seven seasons, as well as a prequel in 2016. Two anime films have also released, the most recent being Fairy Tail: Dragon Cry, which premiered in May 2017.
Despite the original series having already ended, it shows no signs of losing its popularity, with many excited fans attending a special exhibition in Angoulême, France early this year. Mashima also appeared as the guest of honor, having received the festival’s Fauve Special Award.
