Contradicting reports (via ScreenRant) that Netflix has picked up the pilot for a TV adaptation of the comic book Locke & Key, co-creator and Eisner Award winner Gabriel Rodríguez says the news is simply a “rumor” at this point.
Writing on Twitter, Rodríguez said, “Rumor. Nada official,” with reference to the Locke & Key pilot’s Netflix pickup.

Last we heard with regard to the live-action Locke & Key pilot, showrunner Carlton Cuse and management WME, along with IDW Entertainment, were shopping the series around and setting up screenings for streaming services like Hulu, Amazon and Netflix. Hulu reportedly passed on the project a couple months back, leaving the pilot (and potential series) without a home — for now.
The drama, starring Frances O’Connor as Nina Locke, has her family move home following her husband’s death. The comic, co-created by Joe Hill and Gabriel Rodríguez, centered on the three children of the Locke family, and the mystery surrounding their family home’s magical keys and the powers they acquired by interacting with them.
