Marvel’s new series Mr. and Mrs. X will spin out of the aborted wedding of Kitty Pryde and Colossus in this week’s X-Men Gold #30
Although the two fan-favorite mutants won’t tie the knot in the issue, another couple does: Rogue and Gambit. Because the wedding is already paid for and the bar is open, Anna Marie and Remy Lebeau decide it’s the perfect opportunity to get hitched, and Mr. and Mrs. X will follow their exploits as newlyweds.

Marvel disclosed the details of the wedding this morning with The New York Times, along with what will follow that momentous event.
Illustrated by Oscar Bazaldua and written by Kelly Thompson, who penned the recent Rogue & Gambit miniseries, Mr. and Mrs. X will kick off in July. Despite having just written the title that brought the on-again, off-again couple back together, Thompson was taken surprise by how their relationship progressed. “Marvel likes to keep things interesting … I think I was resistant to it initially, but that’s my mistake,” she said. “It creates all this great conflict and intrigue.”
The first issue of Mr. and Mrs. X will show more of their wedding, which Thompson knew fans deserved to see because it was so sudden. That will be followed by a honeymoon in space, naturally. “They’re the X-Men,” she said, “the sexy fun times only last for two seconds before they have to save the world.”
