Comics

Taking to Instagram, Image Comics co-founder and Deadpool co-creator Rob Liefeld posted a sketch of a brand-new hero he’s created which is, inarguably, the most Rob Liefeld he’s ever gone.

The beloved comics icon, who started his professional career in the late-’80s, earning the moniker “the Michael Bay of comics,” was known for stylizing his characters with big guns and, yes, pouches. Oh so many pouches.

Obviously, Liefeld is in on the joke, as the new sketch is proudly, and completely, made up of pouches — even boasting a pouch gun. Comics are a wonderful thing.

Best known these days for creating the Marvel Comics anti-hero Deadpool, Liefeld actually got his start at DC Comics, pencilling a well-received Hawk & Dove series. Soon bringing his unique style to Marvel, Liefeld took over The New Mutants, which eventually morphed into the fan-favorite X-Force series, led by another one of his beloved creations, Cable.

Most recently, Liefeld has been drawing covers for his line of Extreme comics at Image, in addition to the odd variant cover for Marvel.
