New photos from the set of Shazam! offer an up-close look at Mark Strong’s Dr. Sivana and Jack Dylan Grazer’s Freddy Freeman.
The images show close-ups of the two characters on set. Freddy wears a Superman t-shirt, while Sivana wears a black jacket with fur trim and boasts a nasty scar over his eye, much like his comic book counterpart. Although the location of the Freddy scene is unknown, it seems likely that the image of Strong comes from a scene caught on video that appeared online earlier this month.

Dr. Thaddeus Bodog Sivana first appeared in Bill Parker and C.C. Beck’s Whiz Comics #2, which released in 1940. Dr. Sivana is a mad scientist who relies on his intellect and inventions, and his skills as a master manipulator, to battle his archenemy Shazam (née Captain Marvel). The aforementioned set video seemed to hint that he may have superhuman abilities in the movie, though it’s also possible that he’s equipped with an invention that enables him to go toe–to-toe with Shazam.
Arriving in theaters on April 5, 2019, Shazam! stars Zachary Levi as Shazam, Asher Angel as Billy Batson, Mark Strong as Doctor Sivana, Grace Fulton as Mary Bromfield, Jack Dylan Grazer as Freddy Freeman, Ian Chen as Eugene Choi, Jovan Armand as Pedro Pena, Ron Cephas Jones as the Wizard and Cooper Andrews and Marta Milans as foster parents Victor and Rosa Vasquez.
