Shazam! Trailer Rumored to Debut at San Diego Comic-Con

The first official look at director David F. Sandberg’s Shazam! could debut as early as next month, at Comic-Con International in San Diego.

The word comes from Splash Report Editor-in-Chief Kellvin Chavez. If true, that would make Shazam! the second DC Extended Universe trailer to premiere at Comic-Con, joining Aquaman, announced last week by director James Wan. Warner Bros.’ traditional Hall H presentation is set for Saturday, July 21.

Shazam! officially wrapped filming last month and promises to bring a more lighthearted tone Warner Bros.’ struggling superhero cinematic universe.

Although we’ve seen glimpses of star Zachary Levi in costume in set photos and on a banner at the Licensing Expo in Las Vegas, the teaser will be our first look at the hero in action. The actor took on “haters” who disparaged the “crap suit” during an Instagram live Q&A, saying, “I think my suit is fucking bomb, to be perfectly honest, and I know there hasn’t been an officially released photo yet, but there have been incredibly high-quality photos that have been released. And I think any of you people out there who are still hung up on what the suit looks like are just wanting to be angry for angry’s sake.”

Debuting April 5, 2019, Shazam! istars Asher Angel as Billy Batson, Zachary Levi as Shazam, Mark Strong as Dr. Thaddeus Sivana, Ron Cephas Jones as an ancient wizard named Shazam, Grace Fulton as Mary Bromfield, Jack Dylan Grazer as Frederick “Freddy” Freeman, Ian Chen as Eugene Choi, Jovan Armand as Pedro Peña, Faithe Herman as Darla Dudley, Cooper Andrews as Victor Vázquez, and Marta Milans as Rosa Vázquez.
