When first premiered nearly five years ago, it was said that we would never see one true, proper Joker. Instead, the Batman prequel television series would feature several possible Jokers, so as to not give the character one particular origin story. Fast forward to Season 5, and now it appears as if the Clown Prince of Cime is fully formed, and ready to take Gotham City by storm. For quite a few seasons now, the birth of the Joker has been closely tied with Jerome Valeska and his twin brother, Jeremiah, both played by Cameron Monaghan. When Season 4 of Gotham concluded, Jerome was dead, and Jeremiah was following in his brother’s footsteps as a maniacal, criminal genius who left the city in chaos and ruins. The character was all but ready to become the Joker and now, with Season 5, it appears as if the Fox series will finally feature Jeremiah as the iconic Batman villain. RELATED: A new picture from the set of Gotham, which is currently in the midst of filming its fifth and final season, offers us a look at the returning Jeremiah, who now not only has the pale skin of the Joker, but also the signature green hair and colorful, striped suit. The purple gloves only add to a mix of colors that makes the character stand out as someone who could ultimately become the real Joker. The Bat, Jeremiah & Alfred catching up on their reading.

holds a very special place in the hearts of fans, so naturally, many rejoiced when it was announced last year that the full series would be as a Blu-ray box set. However, it appears Warner Bros. Home Entertainment failed to anticipate just how much fans would rejoice, as its now increased production to 70,000 units “to accommodate overwhelming demand.” “As many fans and media have noticed, Amazon and other notable retailers were forced to suspend sales of Batman: The Complete Animated Series Deluxe Limited Edition due to unprecedented demand for this beloved series,” General Manager & EVP, Television for Warner Bros. Home Entertainment Jeff Brown said. “Sales surpassed our initial run of 30,000 limited edition box sets about four weeks ago and, rather than leave so many fans wanting, we implemented new production orders to accommodate the requests for this prized collection. A significant portion of those increased numbers have already sold, and all sites are accepting orders again.” RELATED: Batman: The Animated Series ran for two seasons from 1992 to 1995, airing over 80 episodes. In its later run, the show went under the titles of The Adventures is Batman & Robin and The New Batman Adventures, with the original run ending in 1999. Celebrating its 25th anniversary last September, Batman: The Animated Series was the first show in DC’s modern animated universe (DCAU), produced by Eric Radomski and Bruce Timm. Bringing together iconic voice casts like Kevin Conroy’s Bruce Wayne/Batman and Mark Hamill’s Joker, the “Dark Deco” aesthetic mixed with three-dimension character’s resulted in B:TAS becoming one of the most beloved interpretations of the Batman character to date. In addition to every episode, the box set also includes a series of lenticular art cards and three special edition Funko POP! collectible figures. The Batman: The Complete Animated Series Deluxe Limited Edition box set, which retails for $112.99, goes on sale Oct. 30. KEEP READING: (via ) The post appeared first on .

Could we see the return of now that has a new showrunner? According to John Barrowman, the possibility has at least been discussed. In a new interview with , Barrowman, who played Captain Jack Harkness on the series, revealed that a new Torchwood series isn’t necessarily off the table. At least, not now that former showrunner Chris Chibnall is presently running things on Doctor Who. According to the actor, while Chibnall was still finalizing his deal to become the new showrunner on Doctor Who, Barrowman emailed him about Torchwood and received a promising response. RELATED: So, how exactly did the conversation come about? Barrowman, who recently starred on the CW’s Arrow, explained that he’s been meeting with various production companies all around the United States — including the CW — and, unsurprisingly, most of them have shown interest in securing the rights to Torchwood. The series, which served as a Doctor Who spinoff, ran between 2006 and 2011 and saw Barrowman’s Captain Harkness protect South Wales from alien attacks, along with some help from a group of experts. Though short-lived, the series has continued to find a new fanbase thanks to other storytelling platforms, including audio dramas and . Unfortunately, though, the possibility of Torchwood coming back to life on the small screen has seemed rather slim in recent years, which is why Barrowman’s conversation with Chibnall sounds so promising. When the actor emailed Chibnall, he asked if the former showrunner would be interested in a potential Torchwood revival, to which Chibnall responded rather coyly. “He e-mailed me back, and he said ‘As you probably know, I’m in the middle of something very big at the moment, and I can’t discuss anything else,'” Barrowman explained. “But he said ‘Let’s talk when things calm down a bit.’ And that was just at the beginning of his negotiations for Doctor Who.” As it turns out, if Torchwood stands any chance at a revival, Chibnall is the person who can make it happen. “If anyone can do it, it’s Chris,” said Barrowman. “Chris is the one who can make the decision, because it’s always the decision of the showrunner of Doctor Who. I was told that that’s the person who can decide about bringing back Torchwood. Or Captain Jack to Doctor Who.” RELATED: Created by Russell T. Davies, Torchwood also starred Eve Myles, Kai Owen, Kai Owen, Burn Gorman and Naoko Mori. The post appeared first on .

New York Comic Con was the site of a return to Metropolis for fans of Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, and for stars Teri Hatcher and Dean Cain. The pair was reunited at a panel celebrating the 25th anniversary of the hit ‘90s show, and for nearly an hour, they reminisced about the four seasons they spent together as one of pop culture’s most beloved couples. When it comes to the chemistry they had on set, Cain and Hatcher set the standards for couples on superhero shows, and the easy rapport between the pair was actually a happy accident. Hatcher noted that the actors never screen tested together for the show, but according to both, their personalities always meshed and balanced each other out. RELATED: Cain said that the show worked well because of their differing personalities, and because their characters followed suit. “Clark was sort of reactionary, but [Lois] ran the show, and the balance of our personalities worked really, really well,” he explained. “In virtually every scene, I had my partner and she would just drive the scene.” The pair also talked about their favorite moments from the show. Hatcher noted that her favorite iconic moment from the show was in the pilot, when Superman flies Lois in through the window at the Daily Planet and sets her down in the crowded newsroom. (Her favorite full episode, however, was Season 1’s “Honeymoon in Metropolis,” because she loved the romantic comedy-esque tone.) While Cain loved that scene as well, his favorite moment in the series was when Clark proposed to Lois, as he felt that it encapsulated their entire relationship. The moderator mentioned that another notable aspect of the show was the dynamic of the Clark/Superman characters. Where many other iterations show Superman as the true self, Lois &Clark follows comic writer John Byrne’s reinvention of the character, where Clark is the main person and Superman is the disguise. Cain was asked if he could have played the character any other way, and had a very simple answer: “No.” He laughed, and noted that as time went on, he much preferred playing Clark, with Hatcher joking it was just because he didn’t want to wear Superman’s iconic tights. RELATED: Toward the end of their conversation with each other and the audience, the actors once again noted the longevity of the show’s influence, and the worldwide reach of the show. Cain reflected on a time just a few years ago that he was in the “middle of nowhere in China,” and as he walked down the street a man looked up and shouted “Superman!” at him. “It’s great to be a part of this,” Hatcher said of belonging to the larger Superman mythos. “It doesn’t mean we were a bigger part or a smaller part than any of the others, each one is different and that’s great.” “Except that we were a bigger part,” Cain added with a smile. I’m not going to be watching it with my kids, at this juncture — maybe in a couple of years, when they’re a little bit older. It’s definitely an Adult Swim-esque take on it, so it’s darker, but it’s very funny. Arrowverse fans aren’t the only ones who might imagine a relationship between Oliver Queen and Barry Allen. Arrow star Stephen Amell envisions it too — on this one occasion, at least. Grant Gustin debuted as Barry in the second season of Arrow, before going on to star his own series, The Flash. His Scarlet Speedster has remained friends and allies with Green Arrow ever since, but there’s no denying some fans who wish they were more than that. Amell had a little fun with those viewers when he tweeted a heartwarming photo of himself embracing a costumed Gustin on the set of this year’s Arrowverse crossover, and wrote, “I ship it.” I ship it. — Stephen Amell (@StephenAmell) Even if it’s a bit more jokey than what some fans were probably hoping for, it’s nevertheless a nice moment, for viewers and for the actors. It all started with from one Marvel Comics hero to another. Now the tongue-in-cheek war of words is on for ‘s Ryan Reynolds and ‘s Hugh Jackman. Reynolds, who celebrated his 42nd birthday on Tuesday, seems to be feeling a bit salty about the greeting he received from the longtime Wolverine actor. Fans got to watch as the exchange unfolded on Twitter, as Jackman wrote, “Because I’m told that I AM THE NICEST GUY and you’re NOT […[ I will let you hug me. Just this once. On your birthday.” RELATED: A few hours later, Reynolds returned the volley with his own tweet, calling Jackman a “monster” who has hidden his true nationality from the world. This man is a monster. He’s not even from Australia. He’s from Milwaukee. — Ryan Reynolds (@VancityReynolds) “He’s not even from Australia,” the actor wrote. “He’s from Milwaukee.” The history of good-natured ribbing between the pair goes way back to 2011’s X-Men Origins: Wolverine, and is essentially rooted in Reynolds’s determination to have Jackman appear as Wolverine in a Deadpool film. Jackman has made it known that the 2017 hit Logan, his ninth appearance in that role, is the last time he intends to don the famous adamantium claws. However, Reynolds continues to campaign for a change of heart. RELATED: There have been occasional cracks in Jackman’s stance on the subject, with various interviews in recent years revealing that he regrets never appearing in a Deadpool or Avengers movie, but for the time being it looks like Reynolds will have to carry on lampooning his friend and hoping for the best. WARNING: The following article contains spoilers for Season 3, now streaming on Netflix. With fans still reeling from the cancellations of and , Daredevil star Charlie Cox has called into question whether there are additional seasons planned for his Marvel Netflix drama. Indeed, , with Vincent D’Onofrio’s Wilson Fisk returned to prison, and Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) reunited, and once again on good terms, with friends Foggy Nelson (Elden Henson) and Karen Page (Deborah Ann Woll), and even planning to open a new law firm. Although the final moment teased the potential rebirth of Wilson Bethel’s Benjamin Poindexter as Bullseye, this season neatly tied up loose threads that had been dangling since 2015. RELATED: Asked by about Matt’s future following this more “hopeful” ending, Cox confessed, “At this point, I don’t know if there’s any intention of us doing more seasons.” “But were that to be the case,” he continued, “I think there’s an interesting challenge for the writers, because I don’t think we can do another season where Matt is so isolated, so alone, and so broken and angry. I think in order to avoid being a broken record, we’re going to have to find a Matt Murdock that at least initially has a slightly different attitude toward the people that he loves, and toward himself, and toward God.” RELATED: , but undoubtedly more optimistic. ““I can tell you that I’m very hopeful to go do a Season 4. There has not yet been any kind of an official pick-up,” he said in an interview published earlier this week, “but if there is, I’m very hopeful that I will be a part of it.” Those comments of course arrive in the shadow of the cancellations of Iron Fist and Luke Cage, made in two successive weeks. Although the former may have not come as much surprise, considering the mixed (at best) reviews for Iron Fist‘s two seasons, the blow from the latter was deeply felt. A new report, released on Tuesday, indicates , which may not only explain the cancellations but also cast doubts about the survival of Daredevil, Jessica Jones and The Punisher. More than 30 years after the release of the original , producer Gale Ann Hurd revealed she and director James Cameron almost didn’t get to end the film the way they wanted. At Screamfest, Hurd recalled the behind-the-scenes struggle with executives to maintain the bleak ending we all know. “We got notes to end the film before the end of the film,” she said in a Q&A session. “Not even have The Terminator rise out as the endoskeleton, but just end with Kyle Reese and Sarah Connor hugging.” RELATED: Hurd had to fight for the vision she shared with Cameron — a difficult feat for a first time filmmaker. “I mean, your first movie and you’re telling people, ‘No, you’re wrong,’” Hurd said. “It’s not an easy thing to do.” Thankfully, Hurd and Cameron had right people fighting for them. She gave credit to her mentor Rodger Corman and Lindley Parsons, Sr., head of Film Finances in Los Angeles at the time. They both “knew what The Terminator was going to be,” according to Hurd, when not many people understood the idea. RELATED: Corman and Parsons also weren’t afraid to give advice or call out mistakes when they saw them. “You absolutely need people to believe in you,” Hurd said. “You also need people to tell you when you’re screwing up that you can listen to.” Corman and Parsons “were all of that” and had their back, Hurd added. Though Terminator Genisys flopped, a new Terminator movie is in the works. James Cameron, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Linda Hamilton are involved. It is scheduled for release on November 1, 2019. may have ended with the apparent death of many fan-favorite Marvel Cinematic Universe superheroes, but Earth’s Mightiest Heroes aren’t exactly down for the count yet. In fact, we already know that some reinforcements will be coming soon in the form of Captain Marvel. But that may not be all… Earlier today, an apparent image from the set of was leaked, revealing a first look at Pepper Potts’ new superhero identity: the armored Rescue. RELATED: The picture appears to be a selfie taken by actress Gwyneth Paltrow, who can be seen wearing a fitted armor that certainly looks like it could have been designed by Tony Stark. Of course, given the fact that this picture is a leak, there is always the possibility that it is fake — however, that outcome doesn’t seem likely. By all accounts, the picture appears to be real, which means that the big screen version of Pepper is likely to follow in the footsteps of her comic book counterpart. A post shared by (@uncannycomicquest) on Oct 23, 2018 at 9:09am PDT In the comic books, Pepper Potts first became Rescue in 2009’s Invincible Iron Man #10 by Matt Fraction and Salvador Larroca. The suit was designed by Stark, and it was known for being an armor designed for rescue operations only — it’s offensive and attack systems practically non-existent. While this would mark the debut of Pepper Potts’ superhero identity on the big screen, this is actually not the first time that she has worn an Iron Man armor in the MCU. In fact, Pepper briefly suited up as the Armored Avenger before, when the Mandarin attacked Tony Stark’s Malibu mansion in Iron Man 3. Faced with devastating destruction, Tony summoned his Mark XLII armor onto Pepper to save her. In return, Pepper reciprocated the act, by piloting the suit to save Tony. If this picture is in fact the real deal, then Avengers 4 will indeed feature the debut of Rescue. How and why would remain to be seen, but it’s possible that Pepper would suit up with her own armor in order to rescue Tony, who is currently still landlocked on the Saturn moon, Titan. This year’s upcoming Arrowverse crossover event, titled “,” will be in no shortage of surprises and crowd-pleasing appearances. The title of the event itself, Elseworlds, is a reference to out-of-continuity comic book stories that partially constitute the DC Multiverse. Therefore, the world of the 1990 The Flash television series has now become an official part of the Arrowverse, like NBC’s Constantine before it. Shipp’s inclusion in the crossover comes as a genuine surprise, and it only adds to the excitement surrounding the big event. RELATED: DCTV returns to The CW this fall with The Flash leading the charge on Tuesday, October 9 with its Season 5 premiere at 8 PM ET/PT, followed by Season 2 of Black Lightning at 9 PM. Supergirl will follow the next week on Sunday, October 14 at 8 PM, with Arrow the next day on Monday, October 15 at 8 PM. Finally, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow will return on Monday, October 22 at 9 PM. The highly-anticipated “Elseworlds” crossover will air over three nights, from Dec. 9 to Dec. 11. The post appeared first on .

A new video takes viewers through New York City and highlights the spots that have been featured in the . Just like in the comics, a lot of the biggest events in the history of the Marvel Universe take place in New York City. It’s home to many of the company’s heroes and plays a part in many of their stories. A video released by pinpoints where many of the events took place in relation of one another and around the city. The video points out some of the obvious connections (notably, Steve Rogers growing up in Brooklyn and Peter Parker hailing from Queens) and fight sequences, but the video also points out some quietly cool aspects of the MCU version of New York City. RELATED: S.H.I.E.L.D. has a base of operations right next to Times Square, Stark Tower is actually the MetLife Building and the Stark Expo from Iron Man 2 being in Flushing Meadows Park are all little details that can be easy to miss, but the video manages to highlight. Although, there are some omissions from the list. Notably, the Hulk’s battle in Harlem from the climax of The Incredible Hulk is missing from the map, as is anything from the Netflix Marvel shows and their tenuous connection to the MCU.
