Infinity War: Loki's Death Broke Tom Holland's Heart

While Tom Holland’s mostly improvised final scene in Avengers: Infinity War might be the moment that broke fans’ heart, the Spider-Man actor has his own opinions in regards to which death scene left him feeling the most heartbroken.

During an appearance at Comicpalooza, the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Peter Parker told fans that, because of the level of secrecy the Russo brothers maintained throughout the production of Infinity War, he hadn’t yet learned all that was going on in the film outside of his own arc. He revealed it was Loki’s death that broke him when he finally sat down to watch the film.

“Yeah, I honestly didn’t really know much at all which is quite fun because, like you guys, I’m a big fan of these movies so being able to go to the theater and enjoy it as a fan because I knew nothing about it was great, you know?” Holland said. “Tom Hiddleston at the beginning? Heartbreaking. That killed me.”

Loki’s death doesn’t evoke much in the way of tears from any of the other Avengers aside from Thor, who uses it and the death of Heimdall to fuel his fury for the remainder of the film.

In theaters now, Avengers: Infinity War is directed by Joe and Anthony Russo and stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Jeremy Renner, Scarlett Johansson, Paul Bettany, Anthony Mackie, Paul Rudd, Elizabeth Olsen, Tom Holland, Benedict Cumberbatch, Chadwick Boseman, Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper, Vin Diesel, Tom Hiddleston and Josh Brolin, among others.
