This revelation comes as even more of a heartbreak, considering that Groot was speaking to Rocket just before he disappeared. The relationship between Rocket and Groot has been an important staple of the Guardians of the Galaxy films, and the fact that this teen version of Groot called Rocket “Dad” just before dying is enough to completely shatter our still-reeling hearts.
