Superman Actor Henry Cavill Responds to False Death Report

Movies

The Man of Steel may have met his maker in the closing moments of 2015’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, but DCEU mainstay Henry Cavill is currently very much alive and well, both on and off the big screen. That being said, it certainly came to Cavill’s surprise when a simple Google search indicated that the 34-year-old British actor had died just two days earlier.

Taking to Instagram, Cavill posted a photo of himself alongside a screenshot of a Google search for his name. However, in a brief blurb populated with information from Wikipedia, his date of death was listed as “3 March 2018.”

“When you learn that you died 2 days ago….,” Cavill commented.

Given the open source format of Wikipedia, it’s hardly uncommon for users to knowingly make false edits to celebrities’ pages. Thankfully, Cavill seems to be taking the news  of his “death” like a good sport.

Available now on digital HD, and beginning March 13 and on Blu-ray and DVD, Henry Cavill’s Superman can be seen in Justice League, which also stars Ben Affleck as Batman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Ezra Miller as The Flash, Ray Fisher as Cyborg, Jeremy Irons as Alfred Pennyworth, Diane Lane as Martha Kent, Ciarán Hinds as Steppenwolf, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor and J.K. Simmons as Commissioner Gordon.
