There was also some ambiguity in Netflix’s original statement, which read, “While the series on Netflix has ended, the Immortal Iron Fist will live on.” However, there’s been no official statement on the future of Iron Fist‘s characters on the streaming service. Jones first appeared as Rand in the first season of Iron Fist, which debuted in 2017. He later reprised his role in The Defenders and Luke Cage Season 2. As mentioned before, it was made clear that Danny Rand and his cohorts could return at some point in the future. However, in what form this will happen is not clear at the moment. In addition to The Defenders, the character did make an appearance and Luke Cage Season 2 and the door is definitely open for some more Power Man & Iron Fist team-ups. Ultimately, we’ll simply have to wait and see what Marvel has in store for the Iron Fist mythos going forward. But if there’s one thing we know for certain, is that the likes of Danny Rand, the Daughters of the Dragon and Typhoid Mary aren’t exactly known for staying down long. Director John Carpenter has shared his opinion about the upcoming sequel starring Dwayne Johnson, and he’s not happy. Comic book movie fans can get a first look at Vin Diesel in the title role of director Dave Wilson’s Bloodshot. Valiant and Sony hope to craft their own superhero movie universe to rival both Marvel and DC, and are starting the ball rolling with Bloodshot. The Internet has been swirling with fan renditions of what Diesel could look like as the meta-morphing soldier, but the official first look at what the actor will look like as the character has arrived from an unexpected, yet totally logical source. RELATED: In conjunction with Microsoft, Paul Walker’s Reach Out WorldWide (ROWW) charity is auctioning Bloodshot-related merchandise during the livestream event. A variety of items are on display, but of particular interest is a copy of Bloodshot Salvation #12 that features variant cover art by Lewis LaRosa. As well as being signed by Diesel, it gives an idea of what he’ll look like in the movie. If nothing changes, it looks like Wilson is going for a comic book-accurate Bloodshot and the movie will prominently feature his signature red spot. RELATED: As it stands, Bloodshot is scheduled to be the focus of Valiant and Sony’s first two movies, followed by a pair based on Harbinger and a fifth that will feature a crossover between the two franchises. Disney Channel’s animated will overlap with the events of 2015’s Star Wars: The Force Awakens more than originally expected. The successor to the beloved Star Wars Rebels, Star Wars Resistance follows new characters Kazuda Xiono, an eager young pilot recruited by Poe Dameron to identify those on the fueling platform Colossus who may be sympathetic to the First Order. Despite being set six months before the events of The Force Awakens, Resistance will be more of a crossover than a prequel series. Speaking with , head writer Brandon Auman explained why Resistance takes place in such close proximity to the current live-action trilogy, saying, “It’s a little hard for the younger fans to wrap their heads around it if it was, say 15 years before The Force Awakens.” “Then it’s a very nebulous timeline. You’re kind of not sure,” he continued. “The fact that we’ve got Poe Dameron and BB-8 from the very beginning — kids and any fan of any age automatically just know, ‘This is the new movies, this is where it’s gonna take place,’ so it’s just easier. And it was just fun to kind of roll in and back up a little bit instead of just trying to follow exactly where the movies are at.” While the Star Wars universe branches out from live-action, animated series like Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels have filled in the gaps between films. Resistance is the first series that attempts to tackle the period between Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens. RELATED: Although audiences know what happens in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, producer Justin Ridge promised there will still be a few surprises along the way: “It’s a cool hybrid of old and new. Even though it has more the lighthearted tone to it, there are still stakes.” Airing Sundays at 10 p.m. ET/PT on Disney Channel, Star Wars Resistance stars Christopher Sean as Kazuda Xiono, Suzie McGrath as Tam Ryvora, Scott Lawrence as Jarek Yeager, Myrna Velasco as Torra Doza, Josh Brener as Neeku Vozo, Donald Faison as Hype Fazon, Jim Rash as Flix, Bobby Moynihan as Orka, and Rachel Butera as General Leia Organa, with Oscar Isaac as Poe Dameron, Adam Driver as Kylo Ren, Gwendoline Christie as Captain Phasma and Elijah Wood as Jace Rucklin. Over the course of ‘s run on Fox, one of the most enduring fan theories has suggested that the scheming, yet volatile character Barbara Kean would make a hard departure from her comic book counterpart and eventually become the iconic DC character Harley Quinn. While it ultimately did not come to pass, Gotham showrunner John Stephens confirmed that this twist was, in fact, on the table for the series at one point. “There was a brief period where we said ‘is there a way to turn her into Harley Quinn?'” Stephens told . “But we didn’t do that either.” RELATED: During this same interview, it was revealed that there were plans for Barbara Kean to have a big “comics canon revelation” at the end of Season 3, alongside the reveal that Butch was actually Solomon Grundy. However, if this had come to pass, it’s unclear who she would have actually become. “I think we were briefly thinking of turning her, for some reason I don’t know why… now it seems like a terrible idea… into Magpie,” he admitted. “So we’re not going to do that. We’re just gonna have Magpie.” RELATED: In late 2016, Erin Richards — who plays Barbara — also commented on the possibility of becoming Harley Quinn in an interview with . However, while she revealed that there had “been discussions,” she also stated that she felt a seismic change for Barbara would be necessary to justify her transformation into Harley. Gotham stars Ben McKenzie as James Gordon, Donal Logue as Harvey Bullock, David Mazouz as Bruce Wayne, Robin Lord Taylor as Penguin, Camren Bicondova as Selina Kyle, Erin Richards as Barbara Kean and Sean Pertwee as Alfred Pennyworth. SPOILER WARNING: This article contains minor spoilers for the premiere episode of Doctor Who’s 11th season. The Doctor has finally arrived. On the final day of New York Comic Con, fans were able to watch “The Woman Who Fell to Earth,” the first episode of the new season, as it was simulcast across the globe. The excitement for the new season was palpable in the room, shadowed only by the crowd’s reaction to Jodie Whittaker’s debut as the titular character. As the Doctor barreled through the roof of a train car, leapt from one towering crane to a neighboring one, and built — from scratch — her own brand new sonic screwdriver, the audience applauded and cheered so loudly that occasionally a line of dialogue was overrun by the sound. But the emotional response wasn’t just from the audience. “I’m going to cry,” Whittaker said when asked what it was like to watch her first episode with a crowd of 5,000 people. Showrunner Chris Chibnall felt the same way, saying that it was incredibly special to have experienced premiere in this fashion. “You’ve got an amazing new Doctor,” he told the fans. RELATED: Aside from finally seeing the new Doctor on screen, the audience was also able to meet her new companions: Ryan Sinclair (Tosin Cole), Yasmin “Yaz” Khan (Mandip Gill), and Graham O’Brien (Bradley Walsh), all of whom Whittaker wished were in New York with her to bring the show to audiences for the first time. She shared what it was like meeting two of them: “The first time I met Tosin and Mandip was in their recall. Tosin had been away and was like, ‘Who’s this in my audition?’ He just thought they got some random, lucky actor to be the person to read opposite him in the scenes, just so the casting director could concentrate and not have to do the off lines. And afterwards he was like ‘Oh, okay.’ Mandip walked in and told some of her many hundred hilarious stories and I over laughed and the second she walked out, I went ‘that is my new best friend.’” She noted that working with Brad (or “Showbiz,” as Tosin has taken to calling him) is a privilege, and she’s thrilled to have them all on board with her. RELATED: “I think the thing that’s really apparent is that it’s not fake chemistry. We all really get on, and really love each other,” she added. For Chibnall and executive producer Matt Strevens, having three companions from varying backgrounds was part of their hope for inclusiveness on the show. The companions are diverse in other ways as well: it was revealed that Ryan has dyspraxia, or Developmental Co-ordination Disorder (DCD), a condition that affects a person’s gross and fine motor skills. Ryan is shown struggling to ride a bike, and Chibnall noted that they worked with the Dyspraxia Foundation in the UK to make sure the condition was properly represented on screen. “It was really important to us that those friends represent everyone out there who’s watching,” Strevens said. Next year, Disney classic will become one of several animated films to receive a live-action remake, with Sherlock Holmes director Guy Ritche helming the film. Among those in cast will be Will Smith, who plays the wisecracking, pop culture reference spouting Genie, voiced in the original by the late Robin Williams. Earlier today, Smith granted fans’ wishes by unveiling the first poster for the film. The poster places the magic lamp on display, though this time it has a more detailed design and curvier handle. The bottom of the lamp glows with a purple light and a blue wisp of smoke trails out of the lamp’s spout, obviously meant to reference Genie. With its final season arriving next year, the hit HBO fantasy series has gone to great lengths to prevent any spoilers from getting out, such as destroying physical copies of scripts. But according to one of the stars, the precautions went even further, with a “drone killer” utilized to prevent any aerial spying on the production. The tactic was first mentioned Sunday by Sophie Turner at New York Comic Con. “If a drone flies above sets, there’s a thing that can kill the drones, which is really cool,” she told. “It creates a field around it and the drones just drop. It’s very X-Men.” RELATED: A “drone killer” is a gun-like electronic device typically used by police to disables drones and force them back to Earth. HBO had gone so far as to work with Northern Ireland authorities to prevent the taking of unauthorized photographs, and labeled sets with no-fly zone warnings. HBO clearly spared no expense to prevent plot points from Game of Thrones from leaking out before the series arrives. The final season of Game of Thrones will be released in the first half of 2019.
